About the job

SUMMARY 

Provides a broad spectrum of financial management to a medium to large sized company with greater than $200 million dollars in total revenue, and more than 100 employees.  Provides leadership and ensures company accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles. 
 

Your tasks

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES 

•    Plans and develops an efficient and effective financial accounting system including: general ledger, cost accounting, inventory accounting, fixed asset accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, financial reporting. 
•    Manages the month-end closing process so that financial results are crystallized no later than the second working day of the next month. 
•    Ensures coordination standards and the financial policy/principles of the Franke group are adhered to. 
•    Analyzes all aspects of company activities and identifies economic weaknesses and opportunities, prepares reports that will serve as a basis for improving earnings and for reducing risks, and supervises the execution of such plans 
•    Works closely with the General Manager and Director of Finance to identify problems and/or risks, provide courses of counter action, and monitors outcomes. 
•    Works closely with Operations in identifying reasons for inefficiencies, recommending solutions and monitoring the results on a periodic basis. 
•    Prepares reports, which summarize and forecast company business activity and results in areas of revenue, margins, expenses, and earnings. 
•    Assists in budget preparation, budget proposals, and prepares supporting documentation and justification. 
•    Work with the Management Team in solving day-to-day business problems. 
•    Assists in designing and testing internal controls as required. Also assists with the external financial audit.  
•    Arranges and controls physical inventories (full count, cycle count). 
•    Supervises all sales tax and property tax returns prepared by the team. 
•    Approves and tracks investment requests to ensure that capital is invested wisely. 
•    Other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

•    Very High Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.  
•    Very High Mathematical Skills - Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis 
•    Very High Reasoning Skills - Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.  
•    Natural authority – Ability to influence company employees at all levels of the organization. Reflex to speak up if activities do not go as planned or are misrepresented, even if unasked.  
•    Computer Skills – Word processing, accounting, spreadsheet, and database software. 
 
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE  
•    BS/BA Degree in related field; CPA preferred but not required. 
•    Eight to ten years prior related work experience. 
 
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 
•    May directly supervise staff.
