In this role, you will contribute by:

 

SUMMARY

 

Manages and directs all aspects of warehousing and related functions. Strategizes, advises, and directs towards future warehouse systems and technologies. Responsible for directing the day to day activities of the Logistics department. Responsible for advancing the current logistics programs, increasing service to our customers, decreasing costs and improving simplicity. Ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods. Responsible for designing and implementing improved processes and/or operational policies.

We are looking for:

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

• Maintain a sound plan of policies to ensure adequate management development and to provide for capable management succession
• Develop and install procedures and controls to promote communication and information flow within the organization
• Maintain an active relationship with other functional areas to assure that the organization is providing appropriate service levels
• Plan, prioritize, and sequence operational initiatives to drive continuous improvements
• Manage operational schedules and coordinate shipping activities to meet service level targets
• Review shipment and operating reports; resolve operational and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays
• Direct Managers on major rollouts to assure timely execution
• Manage the Logistics Department to include but not limited to freight quoting, problem solving, freight auditing internal and external, claims processing, drop ship processing, shipped not invoiced monitoring, and international shipping coordination
• Manage a proactive tracking system
• Oversee freight routings for all shipping locations
• Pull, process, and/or review daily reports and KPIs
• Implement policies, procedures, and strategic plans that align with department and corporate goals
• Develop and maintain SOP’s for the Warehouse and Logistics department
• Oversee shipping schedule to reduce cost and improve service levels
• Improve the collection, reporting, and distribution of shipping data
• Coordinate U.S. Customs clearance for international shipments
• Coordinate with Human Resources on all aspects of employee relations including but not limited to, employee interviewing, hiring, coaching, counseling, disciplinary action, complaints, scheduling, training and development, etc.
• Reliable attendance is a must
• Other duties as assigned

• High Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and/or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and vendors.
• High Mathematical Skills - Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• High Reasoning Skills - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Computer Skills – MS Office Suite

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• BS/BA Degree in Technical Business -Experience may substitute for Education
• 8 years’ experience
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in warehousing/logistics

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Directly supervises staff
