About the job

The BI Developer leads the design, development, and optimization of BI reports for the Foodservice Division, driving data strategy and mentoring junior developers while transforming complex business requirements into robust, scalable data architecture, reporting, and analytics solutions.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Advanced Report & Dashboard Development: Lead the design and build of complex, high-impact dashboards and self-service reporting solutions using BI Tools.
  • Stakeholder & Requirements Leadership: Partner directly with business analysts to shape requirements and translate ambiguous business needs into technical specifications. 
  • Data Integration & Quality Ownership: Architect and govern end-to-end data pipelines and ETL frameworks; establish and enforce data quality, consistency, and accuracy standards across systems.
  • Testing & Validation Leadership: Design automated testing and validation frameworks for BI solutions; establish best practices for QA across the BI team. 
  • System Optimization & Performance Engineering: Own performance tuning, reliability, and scalability of BI systems; lead root-cause troubleshooting for complex, high-priority post-deployment issues. 
  • Documentation: Own technical documentation across data flows, reporting logic; ensure knowledge is captured and maintained across the team. 
  • Governance & Compliance: Lead monitoring and governance practices to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with group standards; contribute to BI governance policy. 

     

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Around 2-3 years of professional experience, including at least 2 years in a Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or Data Engineering role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with BI tools and data visualization best practices, with the ability to build clear, impactful, and business-oriented dashboards.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and relational databases (e.g. Oracle, MySQL), including query optimization and performance tuning.
  • Experience working with ETL processes, data integration frameworks, and data pipeline orchestration.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modelling, and data architecture principles.
  • Familiarity with data governance, data quality standards, and enterprise data security practices.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex datasets, identify trends, and transform data into actionable business insights.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively with large and complex data environments.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to translate technical findings into clear recommendations for business stakeholders and collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build relationships and influence decision-making.
  • Good understanding of business processes within areas such as Sales, Manufacturing, and Warehousing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Willingness to undertake occasional international business trips to other Franke entities.
