About the job

SUMMARY
The Account Director leads sales and sales administration efforts for the McDonald’s Americas Account. This role is accountable for driving revenue growth through strategic account leadership, building and sustaining trusted relationships with key McDonald’s contacts and OEM partners, enabling strong sales execution through field leadership, expanding emerging market opportunities, and delivering consistent and exceptional customer experience. Ideal candidates bring proven leadership experience, strong sales and marketing expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to inspire teams while delivering results. 
Significant domestic and international travel is required to maintain customer relationships, support sales initiatives, and represent the company at meetings, conferences, and conventions.

Your tasks

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Own and manage strategic relationships with key customer accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term partnership growth.
• Serve as the primary point of escalation to resolve customer disputes, service issues, and internal alignment challenges.
• Act as an information conduit between customers and internal stakeholders, including Regional, Corporate, Divisional, Franchisee, and National Franchisee organizations.
• Bring customer insights back into the organization to inform product development, marketing strategy, and service improvements.
• Develop and execute sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets, with a strong emphasis on emerging markets and market share expansion.
• Review and establish monthly sales forecasting and project planning to support company sales budgets.
• Partner with the VP of Sales to develop selling strategies and tactics for domestic and international markets.
• Support international sales efforts in regions where no dedicated Sales Manager exists or involvement is limited.
• Direct, coach, and develop outside sales and sales administration teams supporting key customer accounts.
• Conduct performance reviews and support professional development through training, coaching, and individual development plans.
• Foster a culture of accountability, recognition, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the sales organization.
• Makes professional development a top priority to retain and grow our talent to include but not limited to ongoing training and development and individual development plan execution for each member of your team.
• Review and manage team workload, promote cross-training, and ensure efficient information sharing and project execution.
• Coordinate communication and execution between Sales, Sales Administration, Product Management, Segment Management, Manufacturing, Engineering, Accounts Receivable, Production Planning, Shipping, Information Systems, Service, Warranty, and Turnkey Installation teams.
• Establish and maintain infrastructure and processes that support sales execution, installations, service, and warranty needs for key customer accounts.
• Lead process improvement initiatives and corrective actions through structured problem-solving efforts.
• Assist the VP of Sales with organizing sales meetings, national conventions, and customer-facing events.
• Represent the company at customer meetings, conferences, conventions, and industry events.
• Travel extensively within the U.S. and internationally to support customer relationships and sales growth initiatives.

• Sales and Marketing - Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
• Intermediate Comprehension & Language Skills - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Intermediate Financial & Mathematical Skills - Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Intermediate Reasoning Skills - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Relationship Building - Builds trust and productive partnerships at all levels of our organization, with supplier partner leads, and appropriate client corporate leads
• High Comprehension & Communication Skills - Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Can communicate with clarity and confidence across the organization, inspiring others and driving action through persuasive messaging. Demonstrates consistency, transparency, and reliability
• Computer Skills - Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and related business applications, with the ability to analyze data, develop presentations, and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in related field;
• Minimum six years’ prior related work experience.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Does directly supervise staff.
