About the job

The EHS intern will support the department in various EHS-related activities, with the purpose of mitigate operational risks and promote a culture of accident prevention in the facility.

Your tasks

  • Safety walks: Detect unsafe acts or conditions in work areas
  • Emergency equipment inspection: checks of fire extinguishers, hydrants, first aid kits, eyewash stations and other safety equipment
  • PPE audits: Verify that personnel are correctly using Personal Protective Equipment
  • Safety Data Sheets (SDS): Keep chemical substance inventories nd folders up to date
  • Awareness campaigns: Assist in organizing safety week, drills, or health events
  • Emergency response teams: Support the coordination and meeting minutes for response teams (First Aid, Evacuation, Firefighting)
  • Various related EHS activities

Requirements

  • Active student pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Availability to complete an internship program.
  • Basic knowledge of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) principles and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proactive attitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform safety inspections and plant safety walks.
  • Interest in emergency response teams and safety programs.
  • Basic to intermediate English proficiency (preferred).
