About the job
Establish and/or implement production planning procedures to optimize new and existing planning processes. Gather information and research new and existing technologies and procedures. Has knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures commonly used within the manufacturing environment. It is supported by pre-established instructions and guidelines to perform the functions of the position.
Your tasks
- Be familiar with the nesting process using JetCam, Vault & PBS programming software according to the specifications and processes available in the plant (Laser, Punch and Millwork).
- Check that the configurations in the different equipment established (Laptops / or PCs) for the use of Jetcam licenses are updated.
- Use Work Orders, drawings, sketches, and written and verbal instructions to establish nesting priorities for parts required for production, special work, or engineering requirements.
- Seek to keep the file revisions of all parts updated as alerts in PBS go out or Engineering tasks arrive.
- Follow up on the efficient use of the sheets in the nesting process and/or implement improvements to be within the objective, as well as the use of remnants as a priority.
- Consult with management to resolve issues related to inventory discrepancies or material shortages.
- Receive customer demand and confirm the best shipping date considering line capacities and availability of materials through order confirmation tasks and/or hot request tasks in 48 and 24 hours respectively.
- Validate shortages for future shipments and ensure their scheduling in time from the nesting process.
- The validation of the orders that are required to be completed to be released to process is essential to be carried out accurately to avoid affecting the floor and/or shipments to customers.
- Schedule the different production lines according to the previously established manufacturing sequences and delivery times, ensuring their correct visibility in HALO, as well as follow up on compliance with the program on a daily basis.
- Analyze demand and type of products to identify the numbers of high-moving parts and/or assemblies of great difficulty in order to balance their schedule in time.
- Maintain communication with supervisors and Production Manager to determine times and specifications to consider for new projects and on a day-to-day basis for the fulfillment of the program on time.
- Modify production plans to meet unforeseen conditions under a prior agreement between the different areas (Production and Programming mainly, Quality and Engineering in some cases).
- Communicate to the warehouse area about the set of orders released as urgent so that they are given the same priority to their fulfillment.
- Provide closed follow-up to ensure that shipments are made in a timely manner.
- Officially notify customers (Backorder task) about shipment delays by giving a new delivery commitment with the root cause of the delay.
- Follow up in conjunction with Material Planning to the shorts that are available for the following shipments, to notify the client as soon as possible of possible delays and/or request that the issue be escalated.
- Prepare production reports to support the monitoring of KPIs.
- Timely and reliable assistance on the job site is indispensable.
Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Administration, or related careers.
- English language proficiency 80% (fluent speaking, writing, and understanding)
- Three to five years of experience and/or related training in a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of Jetcam Software
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of the operation of MRP systems.
- Administrative — Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and systems, such as word processing, file and records management, form design, and other clerical procedures and terminology.
- Customer Service — Knowledge of the principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes assessing customer needs, meeting service quality standards, and evaluating customer satisfaction.
- Production and Processes — Knowledge of raw material terminology, production processes, quality, revision changes, logistics, foreign trade, and basic financial impacts.
- Advanced language skills — Ability to read and interpret documents such as security rules, blueprints, customer requirements. Ability to write reports and routine correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with groups of customers or employees of the organization in both Spanish and English.
- Advanced math skills — Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Advanced reasoning skills — Ability to solve practical problems and handle a variety of concrete variables in situations where there is limited standardization.
- Computer skills — Handling Microsoft Office.
