About the job

The Senior Quality Engineer leads quality assurance activities for refrigeration products and systems, ensuring conformance to internal standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements. This role is central to driving continuous improvement, resolving complex quality issues, and fostering cross-functional collaboration within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Your tasks

 

  • Lead quality planning, assurance, and control activities across refrigeration products and manufacturing processes
  • Establish, maintain, and improve quality management systems in accordance with ISO standards and customer-specific requirements
  • Drive new product introduction (NPI) quality activities including APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and PPAP
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action processes using structured methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa)
  • Serve as the primary quality interface with customers and suppliers — managing audits, claims, and issue resolution
  • Analyze quality data and KPIs to identify trends and lead targeted continuous improvement initiatives
  • Coordinate and support internal, customer, and third-party audits; ensure findings are closed effectively and on time
  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Operations to elevate product and process quality
  • Coach and develop junior quality engineers and technicians
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements applicable to refrigeration systems

Requirements

Required Qualifications
      •     Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
      •     Minimum 5 years of Quality Engineering experience specifically within refrigeration products or systems.
      •     Demonstrated proficiency in core quality tools: APQP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, PPAP, and 8D.
      •     Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
      •     Full professional fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
      •     Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
      •     Proven ability to work across cross-functional and multicultural teams.
 
Preferred Qualifications
      •     Experience supporting international customers and global supply chains.
      •     Familiarity with refrigeration-specific regulations, standards, and compliance requirements.
      •     Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification (or equivalent).
      •     Experience in a formal mentoring or team lead capacity.
