About the job

We are seeking a hands-on, results-driven Operations Manager to lead our day-to-day operations in a fast-paced manufacturing and distribution environment. This role is responsible for driving operational efficiency across production, materials management, inventory control, and shipping/receiving—while ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.

 

This is a highly visible leadership role that requires a balance of strategic thinking and on-the-floor execution. The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in LEAN 5S practices, risk assessments, safety observations, and safety maturity evaluations, with a strong track record of building and sustaining a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

 

You’ll lead and develop teams, optimize workflows, and partner cross-functionally to meet customer expectations and business objectives. A strong analytical mindset is critical, along with advanced-level proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint to interpret data, communicate insights, and drive decision-making at all levels of the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the efficient use of plant assets, materials, tools, and equipment within budget.
  • Plan and coordinate workflow to meet production objectives on time, within cost targets, and to required quality standards.
  • Collaborate across departments to meet customer needs and expectations.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop employees to achieve performance goals while ensuring compliance with safety and quality protocols.
  • Establish and enforce standards, policies, and procedures aligned with corporate objectives, including safety and quality practices.
  • Monitor productivity, quality, and operational performance metrics; implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Contribute to long-term operational planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workplace using LEAN 5S practices.
  • Oversee production processes, documentation, and implementation to maintain high-quality output and operational consistency.
  • Ensure all employees follow established health, safety, and quality policies; conduct safety audits and quality checks regularly.
  • Partner with Human Resources on recruitment, training, performance management, and employee relations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years in a production or operations environment.
  • Proven experience in LEAN 5S practices, risk assessments, safety observations, and safety maturity evaluations.
  • Proven experience leading and developing a team.
  • Advanced-level proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Preferred: Forklift Certification, First Aid/CPR training, Bilingual

  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce health and safety regulations; conduct audits and corrective actions.
  • Quality Management: Oversee quality standards and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Process Improvement & Lean Practices: Apply LEAN 5S methods; enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • People Management: Coach, mentor, and develop staff while fostering accountability.
  • Customer Focus: Ensure operations meet customer needs and expectations.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving: Interpret data and implement operational solutions.
  • Technical & Production Knowledge: Manage materials, processes, and equipment effectively.
  • Communication & Digital Skills: Clearly convey instructions and use Microsoft Office and production software.
