About the job
SUMMARY
The Operations Supervisor will assist Warehouse Manager in all Warehouse activities and management. Leads, motivates and develops employees in accordance with targeted production standards, established programs and quality standards.
Your tasks
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
• Leading all aspects of the Warehouse to include but not limited to receiving, stocking, picking, packing, quality control, and shipping of products
• Active in continuous improvement efforts
• Coordinating and assisting with the appropriate department(s) and/or person(s) to ensure customer requests and/or needs are met
• Assisting in the implementation of strategic plans
• Assigning Material Handlers daily job duties
• Pulling, processing, and/or reviewing daily reports as necessary
• Supervising the delivery of in-bound shipments to ensure accurate receipts and stocking
• Supervising the delivery of out-bound shipments to ensure quality and accuracy
• Balancing delivery/processing schedule(s) to ensure just-in-time inventory
• Maintaining accurate inventory levels throughout the warehouse
• Monitoring productivity levels of all workers to ensure maximum quantity and quality
• Implementing standards, policies, and procedures in the Warehouse that align with department and corporate goals
• Assisting the Material Handlers with all questions and/or issues
• Managing staff hours, schedules, and headcount in the Warehouse required for volume
• Allocating Material Handlers amongst all departments
• Performing all functions and responsibilities included in Material Handler job description
• Coordinates, with Human Resources, all aspects of employee relations including but not limited to, employee interviewing, hiring, coaching, counseling, disciplinary action, complaints, scheduling, training and development, etc.
• Reliable attendance is a must
• Other duties as assigned

• Management - Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
• Clerical - Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology
• Computers - Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
• Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
• Safety and Security - Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, regulations, and strategies to promote a safe environment.
• Intermediate Language Skills - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Basic Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• High Reasoning Skills - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Computer Skills - MS Word, MS Excel, PBS, ADP
• Other Skills - Experience in Warehouse Management Systems
• Other Knowledge - Strong knowledge of all distribution center operations. Strong leadership and problem analysis skills
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• AS/AA degree in Industrial, Business or Related Field (Experience may substitute for Education)
• 4-6 years’ experience
• Lean Warehousing operations experience
• Forklift certification as needed
