About the job
Dalla Corte North America is seeking a technically skilled Sales Engineer to support continued growth in the U.S. market. This role applies deep product and systems knowledge to evaluate customer requirements, develop technically sound solutions, and support the successful implementation of equipment and coffee programs.
Acting as a primary technical liaison for customers and distributors, the Sales Engineer works closely with the Business Development Director and cross-functional teams to drive strategic initiatives, execute market plans, and support long-term growth objectives.
This role requires travel (30-40%) and may be based in any of the 49 contiguous U.S. states.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities in the U.S. market.
- Support development and execution of market entry and growth strategies.
- Conduct technical assessments and provide solution recommendations to clients and distributors.
- Partners with sales department to win new business and increase sales.
- Work with customers to design their coffee programs, especially the rollout and implementation of new machines.
- Responsible for leading the sales process for preventative maintenance programs and after-sale support.
- Provides technical support for new and existing customers and distributors to support pre and post-sales processes.
- Provides Product Management with customer feedback to help identify potential new features or products.
- Addresses all product-related queries promptly from customers, internal departments, and service providers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, distributors, and partners.
- Serve as a technical point of contact for clients, coordinating with internal teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Provide market insights, product feedback, and technical guidance to internal teams.
- Prepare regular progress reports, forecasts, and account metrics for review by the Business Development Director.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering field; can be substituted by experience for highly qualified individuals.
- 3-5 years of equipment engineering and/or equivalent technical experience.
- Technical knowledge or hands-on experience with commercial equipment or similar is a strong advantage.
- Experience working with distributors, key accounts, or project-based sales is preferred.
- Product implementation/installation experience from a sales engineering perspective.
- Proven ability to translate technical solutions into business value for clients.
- Field testing experience is a strong advantage.
- Ability to travel as needed (30-40%).

- High Customer Service Skills - Strong customer focus, with the ability to understand technical and business needs, assess solution fit, and deliver timely, professional support.
- Sales and Marketing - In-depth understanding of sales engineering principles, including solution selling, product positioning, technical presentations, and the use of data to guide commercial decisions.
- Mechanical - Ability to interpret technical documentation, equipment specifications, and system functionality to provide accurate recommendations to clients and partners.
- Education and Training - Working knowledge of product training techniques and the ability to guide internal teams or clients through technical processes and product demonstrations.
- Safety and Security - Awareness of safety requirements and best practices in equipment handling, installation, and operation.
- High Language Skills - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information into clear, actionable business insights for internal and external audiences.
- Intermediate Mathematical Skills - Proficiency with business calculations, including percentages, ratios, and basic financial or operational analysis relevant to project proposals and sales forecasting.
- High Reasoning Skills - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to assess complex scenarios and determine practical solutions under minimal supervision.
- Computer Skills - Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software, Presentation software, equipment specific configuration software.
