About the job
The Senior Finance Manager – Commercial serves as the primary finance business partner for Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Customer Service, and Business Development. This role is responsible for driving profitable growth through revenue and profitability planning, pricing strategy, customer and product profitability analysis, margin management, and commercial decision support.
The position partners closely with business leaders to evaluate growth opportunities, improve commercial performance, and ensure the company achieves revenue and profitability objectives. The Senior Finance Manager - Commercial leads financial analysis supporting both manufactured and distributed products as part of the company’s integrated service offerings.
Your tasks
Commercial Business Partnership
- Serve as the primary finance partner to Sales and Commercial leadership.
- Provide financial leadership and insights to support growth initiatives.
- Participate in commercial strategy development and execution.
- Support monthly business reviews and commercial performance discussions
- Develop financial recommendations to improve sales and margin performance.
Revenue Forecasting & Planning
- Lead sales forecasting and revenue planning processes.
- Lead annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and long-range planning processes.
- Analyze sales performance versus budget, forecast, and prior year.
- Monitor volume, mix, and pricing trends.
- Identify risks and opportunities impacting revenue and gross margin performance.
Pricing & Margin Management
- Collaborate with Pricing to implement & maintain strategies to support profitable growth.
- Evaluate pricing actions, surcharges, discounts, rebates, and incentive programs.
- Monitor gross margin and price realization performance.
- Support annual pricing reviews and customer negotiations.
Customer & Product Profitability
- Lead customer, product, service offering, and market profitability analysis.
- Support customer contract reviews and commercial agreements.
- Identify margin enhancement opportunities.
- Analyze product mix and customer trends impacting profitability.
- Recommend actions to improve return on commercial investments.
Commercial Analytics & Decision Support
- Build financial models supporting new products, acquisitions, and growth initiatives.
- Evaluate ROI on commercial programs and strategic investments.
- Support major customer quotations and business cases.
- Provide executive-level reporting and insights.
Team Leadership
- Manage and develop and Financial Analyst and collaborate with other Finance Managers & Controllers across the organization.
- Establish priorities for sales support, pricing analysis, forecasting, and profitability reporting.
- Drive continuous improvement within commercial reporting and analytics processes.
Requirements
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.
- MBA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent preferred.
EXPERIENCE
- 7–10+ years of progressive finance experience.
- Significant experience supporting sales, pricing, commercial operations, or FP&A.
- Experience within manufacturing and distribution environments preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Financial modeling and forecasting.
- Pricing and profitability analytics.
- Advanced Excel and experience with data visualization tools
- Experience navigating an ERP system and ability to utilize commercial data for operational and financial steering.
- CRM (sales pipeline/opportunity management) experience preferred.
- Spanish language skills a significant plus
