Join Franke as a CAPEX and MRO Procurement Manager, where you'll play a critical role in meeting the organization’s capital procurement needs while minimizing risk and maximizing cost efficiency. Collaborating with the central engineering team and factory operations, you’ll define end-user requirements, streamline capital sourcing, and implement effective maintenance and repair strategies. By aligning procurement activities with the broader supply chain strategy, you’ll ensure best practices, policies, and projects are effectively deployed, creating a competitive edge for Franke. Your tasks
Category Management
• Capital procurement policy and procedure alignment and category sourcing process development:
• Ensures that procurement activities and processes meet new capital procurement requirements.
• Implements contractual conditions with selected partner suppliers.
• Monitors the organisation’s long-term project pipeline and proactively conducts research into the available sources of supply before project prefeasibility studies are undertaken.
• Develops strategies and tactics for cost containment/reduction for capital contracts and projects.
• Cooperates with peer functions and ensures that information, knowledge and best practices are shared proactively and openly.
• In respect of capital procurement ensures compliance with capital procurement guidelines and procedures.
• Implements business conditions of contract as directed by Procurement Management.
• Solicits tenders and negotiates contracts as directed.
• Ensures effective contracts administration to minimise cost and time overruns
• Deals with contractor claims to minimise costs.
• Collaborates with operational expenditure (opex) teams to identify and exploit synergies.
• Acts as the procurement lead for projects procurement.
Supplier relationship and portfolio management
• Supply base optimisation strategy support and supply market knowledge assimilation, analysis and application:
• Analyses data related to macro environment, market sectors, suppliers and commodities.
• Reviews prices in market place and develops knowledge on industry characteristics and trends in order to optimise organisational capital expenditure (capex) spend.
• Liaise closely with the end-users in determining their requirements to provide early input into the sourcing process.
• Builds cost models to determine the should cost and total cost of ownership (TCO) of suppliers
• Manage supplier negotiations.
• Develops and manages working relationships with key suppliers.
• Recommends potential sources of supply for capital projects from knowledge of market, existing supplier service levels, competitive sources of supply.
Implementation of business strategies
• Capital project category sourcing process implementation and capital project procurement risk management:
• Undertaking ad-hoc benchmarking or purchasing studies or investigations into suppliers, materials and costs.
• Vets new potential suppliers, undertaking supplier site visits to ensure supplier capability.
• Check that contracts meet pertinent legal and contractual requirements at all times.
• Award business to approved suppliers and establishes and manages payment terms.
• Conducts capital procurement spend forecasts as required and identifies spend categories for cross project volume consolidation.
• Implements the use of framework agreements on projects as directed
Leadership
• Link with local and central Engineering teams.
• Connect with division buyers to insure proper coordination around projects
Requirements
• 7-10 years within Purchasing and/or engineering function
• Worked in a Matrix environment
• Ability to travel internationally
• Engineering education
• Fluent in English. German is a plus
• ERP background – SAP preferred but not mandatory
• Traveling 20-30% within Italy and Switzerland
